About

The one thing that we always hear when potential customers visit our site is “We did not realise what you have here”.

Moughton Engineering was established in 1974 by the late Brian Moughton in a 200 sq ft first floor workshop in Queens Road, Great Yarmouth. The company quickly established a reputation for precision engineered parts and sheet metal products.

Brian’s son Paul joined the business as an apprentice straight from school in 1984 and the following year Moughton Engineering moved into a 1,000 sq ft unit in a courtyard at Gapton Hall Industrial Estate, Great Yarmouth. Paul became a partner in 1989 and in the same year the company took on its first employees, the adjoining workshop unit and a new range of services.

During the next seven years Moughton Engineering expanded into all five workshops in the courtyard and saw its number of employees rise to 25.

Staff increased further from 2007 and the company acquired a further 6,000 sq ft of workshops to accommodate a mild steel fabrication department, then a further 4,500 sq ft for stainless steel fabrication, sealed stores and a large, well equipped, Quality assurance department.

In 2017 the company moved from the units on Harfreys Industrial estate to the current, 32,000 SQ ft site on Gapton Hall Road and brought the company under one roof.

The workforce today stands at 80 and continues to increase as Moughton Engineering wins new business nationally and internationally in its core sectors of Energy, Renewables, Nuclear, Food processing and Waste management.

The business continues to invest in state-of the-art equipment, highly qualified staff, first class training and skills development along with its health & safety ethos.
